Temporary Road Closures - Much Wenlock Road and Buildwas Road

We have received the following notification from Shropshire Council regarding the Section 278 Highway improvement scheme on Much Wenlock Road, Buildwas.

The highway resurfacing required as part of the Section 278 agreement has been planned in to take place from Monday 9th June until Friday 13 June.

During the resurfacing there will be a road closure on Much Wenlock Road between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00.

Whilst the road is closed a signed diversion will be in place with access maintained to businesses and to residential properties.

Advance warning signs will be erected on site two weeks prior to the resurfacing commencing with businesses and residents affected notified via a letter drop.

Following the completion of the resurfacing on Much Wenlock Road, Severn Trent Water and National Grid will be carrying out utility diversionary works on Buildwas Road from 26/06/25 – 01/09/25 under temporary traffic lights, in advance of the next phase of Highway Improvement works which are due to take place on Buildwas Road / Buildwas Bank later this year.

A further update will be provided once the dates for the second phase of the Section 278 works have been agreed.
