We have received the following notification from the Bridges and Structures Engineer at Shropshire Council regarding an upcoming emergency temporary road closure:

************************

I would like to provide you with details regarding the proposed emergency closure of Buildwas Bridge for investigation works.

To ensure the works can be carried out safely, the bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic from 8 December for up to two days, between the hours of 09:30 and 16:00.

Pedestrian and dismounted cyclist access will be maintained, although short delays may occur during certain phases of the work. Access to properties up to the bridge will also be preserved throughout the closure.

We appreciate that this may cause some disruption to the local community and apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.

The works will be undertaken by the Council’s term maintenance contractor, Kier, with supervision provided by WSP on behalf of Shropshire Council.
